The World Needs More Kevin

This Week in Kevin

This is usually a week that I looked forward to in the world of high school hoops. First up would be a potential East/West game which is usually played in Chambersburg and this gave me a good excuse to stop in at Gearhouse and Roy Pitz brewing there, or as I say see my buddy Roy. Then would come the state title games Thursday thru Saturday. I had somewhat of a routine to visit several breweries as well as a few other stops. That is not happening this year. What can you do? I was at least hoping that the games would be played so at least there would be something to watch on TV and the same goes for March Madness too. That would have made this a bit more passable but, no. Thanks Rudy Gobert. Granted it probably would have happened sooner or later but you were the jagoff who got it started.

So, what to do? I fortunately can work from home so I really don’t lose any productivity at all except when the cats want constant snuggle time. I did have a stack of baseball play-by-play from last year and I used the downtime to fill them in. That took a day to do. Food reserves are good as are beer reserves and toilet paper reserves. The Guinness did flow on St. Patty’s Day. It takes a lot of them to get me to even feel a buzz. Spent some time out of the house as I had to take my dad grocery shopping. The shelves were pretty bare in some places. I found it funny that the spaghetti sauce was all sold except for the real expensive $7 and $8 bottles. Guess the people don’t want Italian food that badly. Fortunately for me I purchased several jars of sauce so at least for the immediate future I am in good shape with Italian food. I have some stuffed shells and spaghetti so ask me again after next week where I stand. I did also go back since I decided I would use this downtime to improve my culinary skills. There was actually some spaghetti sauce on the shelves but the ramen shelf was emptied and devoid of product.

I can’t watch the news anymore. It’s just all fear mongering. Seems to be all the news is good for these days. It’s times like these that I am glad I have an antenna so I can’t watch CNN or MSNBC or even FOX News. It does limit what I can watch so I watched reruns of Stargate SG-1 and The First 48. Exciting eh? Getting some reading done too. Finished Kennesaw Mountain and moved on to the next topic, David Detzer’s Allegiance: Fort Sumter, Charleston and the Beginnings of the Civil War. Seems like an easy read so far.

And of course this last section would be now reserved for next week’s baseball games. Won’t be seeing that section for awhile it looks like. I am guessing Memorial Day or the week after if it even happens. This is going to be a boring next 2 months but at least it’s going to save me a lot of money. Quitting baseball cold turkey it seems. I was planning on cutting down on the number of games I went to and this will certainly do it. I should have games scheduled for Thursday and Sunday coming up, thanks CCP! I might not even get to take my baseball trip this year, in fact I would imagine it will be off. The only nice thing is I’m pretty sure I don’t have COVID-19 or what I will start calling it the CCP Virus (tip of the hat to China Uncensored). Suck on that CCP.
