Slow week somewhat this week. Not much content writing to do until later in the week but then my car was in the garage to finally deal with the check engine light that has been on for about 2 months now. Well nearly 2 grand later the car is back and it is running much better so I guess I can’t complain about most of that. Hopefully I won’t need any vehicle work done for quite some time now.
Anyway my sports week started on Tuesday. York High went into Red Lion on their Senior Night and pulled out a victory. Considering that Red Lion had beat down York earlier in the year this was somewhat satisfying. York didn’t make the league playoffs since New Oxford beat Northeastern after York High did and therefore held the tiebreaker but they have qualified for districts, which was more than I anticipated this year.
With the ice storm on Wednesday the college slate was washed out moving everything to Thursday. Went to Elizabethtown College to watch Juniata take on the Blue Jays. Etown held their own in the first half and even led at halftime but in the second half they looked like a 4 win team and Juniata rolled their way to a 27 point victory. Following that I drove the 6 miles to Penn State Harrisburg to watch York take on the Lions. Arrived just before halftime and York pulled out a double digit win. PSU got it down to 1 but just could not get the game tied despite having numerous opportunities to do so at the line. Saturday saw Salisbury come to town.
In this week in beer I visited 3 breweries for the first time in the year and I stopped at Collusion on Monday when i was walking home from my parents house. It’s on the way after all. I had dinner before the Juniata game at Bube’s in Mt. Joy and then drove to Elizabethtown and visited Funk to get some beer to go and then had a pregame beer at Moo-Duck. On Saturday was Hibrewnation out at the Fairgrounds. Didn’t want to get too blitzed since I wanted to take in the York College game but I had a good time and sampled all of the beers I wanted to as well as some mead. The big one for me was Gift Horse which will be opening up here in York soon. At the game York got down early had a big comeback in the second half and took the lead but could not hold it. Refs called the game very tight which put a lot of players on both sides on the bench in foul trouble. Salisbury had a better bench effort.
