The World Needs More Kevin

This Week in Kevin

Another week down. Did no shopping on Black Friday other than renewing my Revolution season tickets so I could get 50% off in the team store and the free calendar. Bought a new hat and got my autograph pennant for next season. For half off why not?

Anyway, went down to Emmittsburg on Tuesday to watch York College take on Mt. St. Mary’s in men’s basketball. I did not expect this game to be close but York kept it close. I mean c’mon, this is a Division 3 school playing a Division 1 school. York got it down to 2 late in the game but just did not have enough firepower off the bench. Their starting 5 though can play with a low level D1 school. Granted the Mount is young, they started I believe 2 freshmen and 2 sophomores.

Thanksgiving was not eventful. I love filling though and look forward to it every year. Mmmmmm….filling.

Went to York High’s scrimmage on Saturday morning against Hempfield. They are quick and look like they might be able to play some defense this year. Not a lot of height but they are quick. We’ll see how they match up against Susquehanna Township next week but there may be cause for optimism this year. The last two years the team has struggled to play defense and rebound and only because they could score points did they win any games.

Also went to York College’s game on Sunday against Gettysburg. Big blowout for York and their bench played a good bit of the game. I just hope that they don’t need to rely on the bench too much this year, there’s not a lot of scoring there.
