Four Marylanders signed the Declaration of Independence. Three of them have names that are synonomous with Maryland: Charles Carroll, Samuel Chase and William Pace. The other, Thomas Stone, does not. He was not a warhawk and was more of a loyal British subject but he signed his name anyway knowing the price of failure.
