The last remaining Mason-Dixon survey marker

There are some interesting things to see on the way down the Delmarva Peninsula. I like visiting the breweries and there are some historic sites like Fort Delaware as well. Another is the last remaining original Mason-Dixon survey stone marker. If I recall there are a few in museums but this is the last in the ground.

It’s interesting because this all started in York County. Maryland and Pennsylvania both claimed York County and people did start shooting at each other and intervention by the Crown was needed. Jeremiah Mason and Charles Dixon came and surveyed the border between Maryland, Pennsylvania and Delaware.
