Ever since I’ve been going down to Washington I have said that I am one day going to make the trip to see Mt. Vernon. I finally did in 2018 thanks to Hurricane Florence. You see I attended a Nationals game where they gave away a beer stein but due to Florence the steins were not able to arrive on time so I had to make another trip down to pick it up. Despite the hours listed on the team’s website the team store was not open, but that is a story for another time. I figured why not make the most out of a trip down to DC so I moseyed on over to see George Washington’s home.
