While living in Baltimore I wanted to get out and see the sights so I started heading down to DC. I branched out from there and one thing that caught my eye was the Great Falls of the Potomac, so one cold February day I went and checked it out. The Virginia side has a spectacular view of the falls as well as the remains of an old town and canal locks that were surveyed by George Washington himself.

The falls are also visible from the Maryland side as well as a part of C&O Canal National Historic Site.
