In 2011 I decided to come up to Bridgeport. Other than the Revolution playing here there was no friggin’ reason. Following the 2017 the team folded, not necessarily because they went broke but because the city wanted to move in another direction. It’s a shame but I am not sorry to see them go. I attended a night game and a day matinée game.

How did I get there?

I rode Amtrak from Lancaster. Compared to driving this was much preferable. Parking was $7 in the gravel lot across the street from the stadium but free on the street after hours.

Ticket prices

Don’t really remember, I think the seats were about $12. They did have a funny sign that said unattended children will be sold as bait.

Finding my seat and amenities

Easy to find the seats. We sat right behind the visitor’s dugout. The park had the usual stadium-fare. The water fountains were either not working or hooked up to the slushy machine so I had to go into the bathroom to get a drink of water. I wound up eating at a downtown restaurant rather than the park.

In game experience

They had an in-game host. My dad’s friend got picked to play one of the games, there weren’t that many people in attendance. If you get bored the Amtrak line runs right behind the stadium so you could wait for a train to go by.

Getting out

Can’t really say anything here. I had to wait for Amtrak so I was on their timetable. It was a short 3 block walk to the station. Not a lot of trains come through Bridgeport it seems.

Wrap

This was not really a pleasant place to see a game. I got it off the list and I since the team folded I may never find myself back in Bridgeport.
