Final Game: September 4, 2017

Affiliated with the San Francisco Giants

OK, technically I did not see a game here. I arrived on game day, bought my ticket and sat in the stands waiting for the game to start. It had rained pretty good earlier so the field was too wet so it was postponed. I stopped here on my way to Atlanta in 2017 so I will never be back. Why? The team is got a new stadium that opened in 2018.

How did I get there?

In toward Augusta on Washington Road, drove by the golf course and back Milledge Road to the park. I parked on the street so I parked for free.

Ticket prices

$12 got me in. I bit high for this level but with what came next it was totally worth it.

Finding my seat and amenities

No problem with finding my seat. It was a Monday and a sparse crowd, probably even before the rain hit. What made this worth my while was that a number of local restaurants brought some of their wares and you got to try them for free. Some of the concession items were also free. I ate my fill and also tried my first pimento and cheese sandwich.

In game experience

The game was rained out

Getting out

Easy to get out and back to the interstate.

Wrap

This team used to be a Pirates affiliate. They had a banner with all of the big time major leaguers who came through here and there were some named from the past like Tim Wakefield, Jason Kendall and Aramis Ramirez. I wish the game would have been played especially since they were playing the Pirates affiliate in that league but Mother Nature always wins out.
