Came in from I-40 on Gate City Blvd. Visited a few breweries before the game and with two of them near the park I just parked on the street by them so I parked for free. Several nice breweries in town, not Asheville-esque but it’s doing well.
Tickets were $10 for a box seat. Wound up about at third base so not too bad and pretty close to the field. This is why I love the minors.
Easy to find the seats. Good food selections and the souvenir sodas are bottomless. No ice cream helmets though. For someone who collects those that is a big deal for me.
Usual in game entertainment. I was also there on Baseball Bingo night and for the first time in my life I got bingo. The only problem was that I got it in the 8th inning and all of the prizes were given away by the 2nd. Just my luck. Greensboro did beat the snot out of Charleston that night so I guess that’s the way it goes.
One thing I liked about Greensboro (and many other southern cities) is that they have big wide streets. Navigated to Elm Street and headed out of town where my motel was. Took about 10 minutes. Granted the attendance was not high for this game and I did have to walk back to my car but it wasn’t hard.
Normally a park like this is a one and done for me but they are now a Pirates affiliate. Now that may not last as affiliations change every few years but it was nice to see some young Bucs. This was a neat place to go and I do hope to get back, regardless of who the team is affiliated with.
