AAA World Series in Scranton

It’s not everyday that I get to watch championship caliber baseball and it is not everyday that I get to see teams that play out of my region. So when the AAA World Series came to Scranton I had to get myself a ticket. I got in early, April in fact. The hometown Railriders were poised to have a good season and were defending champions so there was a chance they would be playing a home game so it was necessary. Well, the Durham Bulls beat them in the International League playoffs and faced off against the Memphis Redbirds of the Pacific Coast League for all of the marbles in AAA. I expected this game to be played like a real post-season major league game and I guess I got that considering the way post-season games have started to be played. Durham broke the game open in the middle of the game and didn’t look back. It was a fun trip and hopefully will not be a once in a lifetime event.
