An expensive week this week. Took the car in for regular maintenance and found a problem was found with the crankshaft. That was a nice four digit repair bill but then I’d rather have that than sitting along the side of the highway on a cold winter night. While we were at it my cat Squeaky has an ear infection. There’s another few hundred dollars there. Can’t afford too many more weeks like that.

I was happy to see the Houston Astros win the World Series. I am happy that a team that built it the right way rather than spending huge sums of money to build their teams did not win. They were mocked when they took Carlos Correa, doubt that is happening anymore. Houston was hit hard obviously so how could you not root for them. As a Pirates fan I keep asking myself when will it be my turn but there is a part of me that thinks the Pirates will never get to another World Series.

On a more positive note I made my yearly trip up to PA Coal Country to visit the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. The Hershey Bears have not done well there when I have gone up to see them and they are certainly not off to a good start for the season. The Bears did win the first time I went up there and have not done so since but today they came away with the 3-2 shootout win. The Baby Pens had four shots hit off of the post but thems be the breaks.

Anyway, Cave Dwellers is tonights MST3K movie on Comet TV. One of my favorites.
