When visiting all of the ballparks in Pennsylvania there is an easy one to overlook in Washington. The Wild Things were at one point the hottest ticket in town. They had the new team smell all the while the big league club up the road was mired in a years long losing streak. Some of the luster has come off in recent years but considering you are watching about the equivalent of A ball this is not a bad place to watch a game.
The exit is off of I-70 and a spur from the mall takes you back to the park. Parking is $2.
The fist time I came here it was $1 special night. The second time it was $8. Not bad.
Most seats are general admission so you have your pick. They had the usual stadium fare and a kid’s play area. Nothing to write home about.
It’s the usual experience. I think they use local umpires so the fans are not quite as hard on them as they could be.
Easy out though should there be a well-attended game it could be difficult as you have a single road that leads out.
I don’t get to see the Frontier League often and this is the closest franchise to me. It’s not great baseball but occasionally there is a diamond in the rough as a few alumni have made it to the big leagues. You never know what you will see.
