As this week starts a quick glance at the only baseball being played in the world. My NC Dinos are in first place with an impressive 14-3 record. Looks like Mike Wright is doing pretty well with a 2-0 record and a 1.69 ERA and Aaron Altherr has some good numbers (3 HR and 7 RBIs) but he needs to bring that batting average up. Hitting .204 in the KBO is not going to attract scouts. Down in Taiwan my Fubon Guardians have improved to an 11-13 record good enough for 3rd place (out of 4). Mike Loree must be injured (or demoted) as he has not appeared in a game since the last update. On side notes former Rev Ryan Fierabend is 1-2 in 6 games for the UniLions. Maybe I should switch allegiances.
Memorial Day Backyard BBQ went well until the very end. I wasn’t drinking much and at the very end I fainted. We haven’t had a lot of summer-like days here and I guess I just wasn’t used to it. One second I was leaning against the railing waiting for the last batch of baked potatoes to come off the grill and the next I was staring at the ground breathing like my life depended on it. Apparently I was out for 30 seconds and when I tried to get up I went right back out. That was scary. The paramedics got called but by the time they were there (not a knock on them, they got there fast) I was feeling better. A little dizziness for the next hour or two but that was gone later in the evening. Spent the evening laying in bed drinking lots of water. Looks like it was heatstroke.
Spent the rest of the week working on the computer. Lots of leftover chicken and by the end of the week I was chickened out.
Given the events of Monday I just stayed home over the weekend. No drinking beer or brewery visits. Plopped myself down on my chair and watched the longest movies I could think of, the extended editions of the Lord of the Rings movies.
